'Vox Sonus' Design Concept

"A speaker reimagined as sculpture, designed to earn its place in a room on form alone."

Consumer electronics often struggle to earn a place in a considered interior. Most speakers are designed to be hidden, not displayed, and even premium products rarely cross the line between technology and sculpture. The Vox Sonus concept set out to challenge that by asking, what would a Bang & Olufsen speaker look like if it were designed with the same intention as a piece of decorative art?

The design process began with form exploration in Fusion 360, drawing on the organic silhouette of a vase as the conceptual foundation. The core challenge was not simply creating an attractive shape, but ensuring the result felt unmistakably faithful to Bang & Olufsen's established design language. Substance Painter was used to develop the surface treatment, bringing the material fidelity expected of the brand to life before final rendering was completed in Blender.

The outcome was a concept that holds its own in both a studio setting and a lifestyle environment, demonstrating that audio hardware does not need to compromise visual sophistication.
